Who we are
Our website address is: https://etsymudteam.org
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
Any contact form request made via the website generates an email request to a Board member or the webmaster. A newsletter signup is automatically stored on the website database. Removal and purge of your record is available upon request at info@etsymudteam.org or contact (list Board members)
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We are not currently collecting any analytics data. If we start, we will update this policy accordingly.
Who we share your data with
If you fill out Membership Profile information, anyone can view that information — this is helpful to promote your business and your work to the public. User login information is stored in the WordPress database. You may request that data be removed, but this will also delete your membership access to this website.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
Your contact information consists of your email address, phone number, physical mailing location, and any other references that you leave in your login profile, Membership Profile, posting comments, Membership Forum postings, and purchase transaction records. Specifics are listed above. Any requests for data removal from any website record should go to info@etsymudteam.org or contact (list Board members). Any issues with removal of such information will be sent via return email or contact back to you. Before deletion of data, we may ask you to go through a verification process to insure that you are the owner of the data and that your request is valid.
Additional information
How we protect your data
Non-public data (data which is only viewable by members or administration) is protected by login requirements. Valid members and administrators are required to prove their validity by signing in first. Unauthorized access is possible should someone “hack” into a member or administrator account: while this is rare, please do not post personal information unnecessarily anywhere in the website. If you believe that you have added personal data which you now wish deleted, email info@etsymudteam.org or contact (list Board members).
Some data is intentionally public access, such as your Membership Profile. This information is under your direct control: once you log in, you can access your Profile directly and edit the contents. Some information in the Profile has a box you can check or uncheck to control whether that piece of information will be shown to other viewers, or not shown (in which case only Administrators can see the data). As always, if you need data removed and cannot do so yourself, email info@etsymudteam.org or contact (list Board members).
What data breach procedures we have in place
This website is hosted with GoDaddy. GoDaddy has automated processes which monitor and alert the webmaster of some fraudulent activities. Member accounts are username and password protected. Automatic site backups are taken and stored on a rolling 7 day basis, and sometimes on “snapshot” backups which last longer, so data removed from the website may remain on the GoDaddy account longer that it does on the website. If you believe you have extremely sensitive data on the website and are concerned that it mush be removed even from site backups, please note that in your request for data removal and verify that your concern has been acknowledged. Administrators and the webmaster may have access to data (via direct GoDaddy access) after it has been removed from the website: this is unavoidable but can be taken offline if vital to do so.
What third parties we receive data from
We do not take and reproduce postings or personal data you have posted elsewhere, unless that data is public knowledge (such as a public business listing or from your own website or advertisements). Note under the heading “Postings” above that the Membership Forum and comments are susceptible to reproduction through automated emails which, once sent, cannot be retrieved — so take special care to avoid adding sensitive information, or any information that you do not wish public, to any Post or Comment via the website.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We are not marketing your data, and only Profile data should be accessible by others. Please do not access the website if you believe that such data could be compromising to you. Website administrators can review any data you post on the website, but will only be accessed for testing and review of the appropriateness of the postings.
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements
Etsy Mud Team is an association of artists and does not itself engage in industry. Sales of member work is voluntary and does not involve Etsy Mud Team administration in the manufacture of artwork sold. There should be no applicable industry regulatory disclosure requirement involved with Etsy Mud Team, but if you are aware of any, please alert (list Board members) of the details.
